The European Topic Centre on Land Use and Spatial Information (ETC/LUSI), which will lead as part of CREAF the research for this project is an international consortium mandated by the EEA-European Environment Agency to provide information on the main dynamics of land use/cover change in Europe, and related drivers, to policy-making agents and the public. It aims to support EIONET (EU Environmental Information and Observation Networks) and the development of the EESIS-European Environmental Shared Information System. ETC/ LUSI work in close collaboration with European Commission services and international organizations on projects like ESPON, ESDP, INSPIRE and GMES, and involvement in working groups at EU level supporting to the Soil Thematic Strategy and Integrated Coastal Zone Management. Land use-land cover, soil and coastal issue are priority topics.
CREAF´s role in the CLICO project
As part of CLICO, CREAF is developing a case-study of water-related security issues in the Andalusia-Morocco biosphere.
